A couple of weeks ago, browsing through the beauty hall in Libertys I came across this sweetly packaged product.
Iv seen quite a lot of mixed reviews on this product, some love it and some hate it but I wanted to judge for myself. They come in various scents/flavours but jasmine was the one that attracted me because of its colour. The lady started talking about it and because it was the last jasmine, my initial reaction was to take it to the till and bring it home with me. I was sold!
Here it is sitting on my macbook ^^ The product is retailed at £6 which is pretty reasonable considering the body shop lip butters are around the £5 mark.
The picture has made it look slightly more pink than it is, its infact a more nude/pink tone.
Here are the swatches:
As you can probably tell there isn't a huge difference. If your looking for a lip butter that has pigmentation then this is not for you. It gives a very sheer finish and helps even out the lip tone but nothing hugely impressive.
The positives about this product is the formula. The butter melts with ease when applied and gives you soft and smooth looking lips. It also lasts a reasonable amount of time, having to just top up a few hours later. This isn't a problem as most lip balms also require this.
The packaging is also right to my taste, pink and white with simple text oozing simplicity yet looking exclusive. If I could ever design a cosmetic package, it would look like this.
I don't really have a bad word to say about this apart from the pigmentation, which to be honest, doesn't bother me. I much prefer this compared to TBS lip butters any-day.
This product is available at Libertys for £6 and I believe in some larger Boots stores too. =)
